GAME NOTES
  • Oklahoma City scored its nine runs on 11 hits while Mid-America Christian scored its two runs on seven hits and committed a pair of errors.
  • The Evangels had the opportunity to jump on OCU in the top of the first as Kisbel Vizcaya drew a leadoff walk and Hallie Wilson smacked a single to left before both runners got into scoring position on a wild pitch with no one out. However, OCU starting pitcher Shelbey Cornelson managed to dance out of the jam by inducing a popout, a strikeout and a groundout in-between a walk to keep MACU off the board.
  • The Stars opened the scoring when Kamryn Garvie cranked a solo homer over the right-center field wall in the bottom of the first before a fielding error allowed Tiffanie Paul to score, making it a 2-0 game.
  • After coming up empty with the bases loaded in the first, the Evangels managed to cash in in the top of the third. After three-straight singles by Vizcaya, Hallie Wilson and Brooklyn Wilson loaded the bases with no one out, it looked as though Cornelson might get out of another bases-loaded jam. However, Emylee Campbell delivered a clutch two-RBI single to center to tie the game up at 2-2.
  • It didn't take OCU long to get its lead back as the Stars captured the 5-2 advantage on a Tara Hoener three-run homer to left-center in the bottom of the third.
  • The Stars added two more in the fifth on another Hoener two-run jack to left before Bailey Loux added a two-run homer to left in the bottom of the sixth to wrap-up the 9-2 final.
  • Avery Schneringer suffered the loss in the circle after allowing seven runs, six earned on eight hits and two walks and a strikeout in 4.1 innings of work.
  • Hallie Wilson continued to swing a hot bat for the Evangels as she tallied three of MACU's seven hits on a 3-for-3 day with a run scored.
  • Emylee Campbell was MACU's lone run producer on the day, slashing 1-for-3 with two RBIs while Kisbel Vizcaya reached bases safely twice by going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

GAME NOTES
  • Oklahoma City scored its three runs on eight hits with two errors while the Evangels finished with four hits.
  • In the low-scoring affair, OCU's starting pitcher Emersen Heron helped herself at the plate by hitting the go-ahead solo home run to center to lead-off the bottom of the second to make it a 1-0 ballgame.
  • Heron did the same to MACU in both the bottom of the fourth and sixth innings, bashing solo home runs in each frame to make up the 3-0 scoring.
  • The Evangels biggest scoring threat came in the top of the sixth when Brooklyn Wilson hit a one-out single and Morgan Fowble was hit-by-a-pitch before a double steal put both runners into scoring position. However, the Stars got out of the jam by inducing back-to-back popouts to keep MACU off the board.
  • Rachel Eggleston suffered the defeat in the circle, allowing three earned runs in the complete game on eight hits with no walks and four strikeouts over six innings of work.
  • MACU's four hits were scattered amongst four different players as Karlee Danielson, Morgan Fowble, Stormy Haynes and Brooklyn Wilson notched MACU's base knocks.
UP NEXT
  • Mid-America Christian will wrap-up the series on Monday as the Evangels will open the twin-bill with a 2 p.m. first pitch at Ann Lacy Stadium.
