GAME NOTES
  • Oklahoma City scored its nine runs on 12 hits while the Evangels scored their lone run on four hits.
  • The Evangels put together an early scoring threat when Hallie Wilson cranked a double to center, but OCU pitcher Shelbey Cornelson was able to retire the next two batters to prevent MACU from scoring.
  • The Stars pushed across three runs through the first three innings, but a Tiffanie Paul two-run homer to right-center in the bottom of the fourth allowed OCU to stretch its advantage to 5-0.
  • Mid-America Christian mustered its biggest threat of the contest in the top of the fifth when Brooklyn Wilson led off the inning by ripping a leadoff double to the left-center field gap, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored the Evangels only run when Talyn Wheeler legged out an infield single to OCU's second baseman to cut the deficit to 5-1.
  • The Evangels managed to load the bases with no outs when Aubrey Meyers hit a single to center and Karlee Danielson reached first on a fielder's choice when the Stars unsuccessfully tried to get the out at third. However, OCU abruptly ended the threat by picking off pinch-runner Cierra Russell on a snap throw to third before a strikeout and a fielder's choice groundout ended the rally.
  • OCU put the game away over the next two innings as a Bailey Loux two-run homer to left in the bottom of the fifth was followed by a pair of RBI hits by Kindalyn Miller and Kamryn Garvie in the bottom of the sixth to wrap-up a 9-1 final.
  • Talyn Wheeler recorded MACU's lone RBI in the contest, finishing 1-for-3 on her RBI single.
  • Brooklyn Wilson notched one of MACU's two extra-base knocks as her 28th career double allowed her to move into a tie for seventh in the Evangels' NAIA Era record book with Hannah Lynch (2014-15). Wilson wrapped up the day batting 1-for-2 with MACU's only run scored.
  • Hallie Wilson also continued to be one of MACU's hottest bats in the line, slashing 1-for-3 with her third double of the season.
  • Chana Wolfe suffered the loss in the circle, allowing seven earned runs on eight hits with two walks over four innings of work.

  • While MACU was able to keep it to a one-run deficit, the Stars opened up the scoring in the fifth as a six-run fifth featured an RBI double by Kamryn Garvie followed by a two-run homer by Bailey Loux and a three-run home run by Tiffanie Paul to extend the edge to 8-1.
