PITCHING DECISIONS TOP PERFORMERS SCORING SUMMARY GAME NOTES
  • Mid-America Christian scored its two runs on six hits with one error while Science & Arts notched four hits and committed two errors.
  • The Drovers put together the first major threat in the bottom of the second when they got a pair of players in scoring position on a lead-off error and a walk later in the frame. However, despite getting Jadyn Goucher down to third with one out, MACU starter Avery Schneringer buckled down by inducing a pop-up and a strikeout in-between a walk to keep the runners stranded.
  • The Evangels took advantage of a major Drovers miscue when Brooklyn Wilson reached on a dropped pop-up by the Drovers catcher on the first at-bat. MACU eventually got runners to the corners when Hallie Wilson slapped a single to right and stole second to put two in scoring position. With two outs, Makenzie Thurman delivered a clutch two-RBI line drive single to left to set the score to 2-0.
  • Neither team was able to get a runner to third for the remainder of the game as the Evangels forced at least a split in the series with the 2-0 victory.
  • By getting her ninth career shutout, Schneringer tied teammate Rachel Eggleston for the second-most complete game shutouts. The senior righty from Blanchard, Oklahoma wrapped up the contest by allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out three.
  • In a game with limited hitting production, six different Evangels recorded their six hits as Makenzie Thurman proved to be the top run producer after finishing 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
  • With the win, Mid-America Christian has won two games against the Drovers in each of the last two seasons while splitting the season series in each of the last two and three of the last four years.
