- Team Notes:
- Entering its break from Sooner Athletic Conference play, Mid-America Christian enters its Senior weekend on a hot streak, winning 14 of its last 15 games as the Evangels saw their 14-game win streak come to a heartbreaking end last Saturday after falling to a red-hot Southwestern Assemblies of God squad 11-10 at the MACU Baseball Field.
- As a result of its stellar streak, MACU climbed up to No. 18 in this week's NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll, currently sitting as the highest ranked team in the nation from the SAC with that 18th place being the highest placement in the poll in program history.
- Playing a huge part in last week's series win, senior starting pitcher Zane Robeaux was named the SAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. In the win, the Mustang, Oklahoma product allowed just one earned run on five hits with no walks and struck out six batters in his first complete seven-inning game this year, marking the fourth of his career. By striking out the final batter in the contest, Robeaux also made the climb to third in MACU's NAIA Era (2008-present) record book for career strikeouts with 175, needing just five more to surpass former teammate Frensly Leito (2020-22) for second and 15 to overtake David Wynn (2010-11) for the program record.
- Before the start of the Saturday game, the Evangels will hold a Senior Day ceremony to celebrate their 12 graduating seniors: Gabriel Aponte, Isaac Baez, Cameron Brown, Reese Cusiter, Anthony Garcia, Tristin Hampton, Caden Harris, Kelton Lachelt, Noah Prince, Devan Quesada, Tylor Richey and Zane Robeaux.

- Team Notes:
- MidAmerica Nazarene is coming off a four-game road split against Heart of America conference foe William Penn (Iowa) last weekend. After taking the opening two games of the series by scores of 11-3 and 6-4 on Friday, the Pioneers dropped the last two games of the series 10-1 and 4-2.
- The weekend matchup will pin one of the best hitting teams in the NAIA against one of the best pitching squads. The Pioneers rank seventh in the NAIA in team batting average (.350) to go with the ninth-best on-base percentage (.447) and the eighth-best slugging percentage (.603).
- The Pioneers on-top of being a strong hitting team are also relatively solid on the mound, tossing the 43rd-best ERA in the NAIA (5.15) to go with the 57th-best fielding percentage (.962).
- Overall, MNU possesses a very balanced batting lineup with six every day players hitting .350 or better as well as seven players tallying a 1.000-plus OPS (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage). Senior utility Drew Woodley has been the Pioneers' most consistent hitter, slugging a team-best .417 batting average tallying 26 RBIs and scoring 37 runs. Meanwhile, junior designated hitter and pitcher Noah Castillo has been the most dangerous bat, swatting a team-high 10 home runs for 56 RBIs to go with 33 runs off a .370 batting average.
- Much like the Evangels, MidAmerica Nazarene also features an ace from Santa Maria, California as senior Zach Trevino leads the rotation with an 8-0 record and a 3.90 ERA across 11 starts. Junior Adam Gray has also been a strong starter for the Pioneers in 2024, notching a 3.88 ERA to go with a 3-2 record in his 11 starts.
- The weekend slate will mark just the second time the Evangels and Pioneers will have ever faced each other. The two teams first faced each other at the Cajun Collision presented by NAIA Ball in Sterlington, Louisiana on Feb. 10, 2023. In battling No. 12 MNU, the Evangels captured a 6-3 lead in the third inning and after the Pioneers cut it to a one-run game, MACU pushed across three runs over the final two frames to come away with the 9-5 win. Yan Ely Adames and Cole Fuecker led MACU's bats in the win with three RBIs apiece while Zane Robeaux got the complete-game win after allowing just three earned runs with one walk and eight strikeouts over seven innings of work.
