  • With the bases empty, the Evangels started over as Stormy Haynes drew a walk, stole second and scored on Madison Mora's RBI single to center. • MACU starting pitcher Rachel Eggleston got a pair of quick outs to start the top of the fifth, but the senior pitcher ended up losing her no-hit bid when the Lions recorded their first base knock on a ground ball single that just got past the back hand of Haynes at short and after Ja'Lecia Pruitt stole second, Ari Bell dropped a flyball single into right-center to plate LU's first run of the game. With Bell advancing to second on the fielding error off her batted ball, the Lions avoided an immediate run rule loss when Talyn Wheeler's back pack throw down to second got past everyone as the error allowed Bell to bring it to a 9-2 score.
  • In the bottom of the fifth, the Evangels closed out the walk-off when Wheeler led off the frame with a walk and after Vizcaya reached on a fielder's choice and stole second, Fowble ended the game when she managed to drop a bloop single into shallow left that the LU shortstop was not quite able to snare as Vizcaya crossed home to wrap-up the 10-2 final.
  • Despite just missing out on recording her second career no-hitter, it was a monumental win for Eggleston in the circle as the victory moved her into a tie for the program record for career pitching wins with former teammate Regan Martin (2018-21) with her 48th victory.
