    • In that win, head coach Josh Gamblin made history by recording his 200th career win in his 10th year with the Evangels program. As a result of MACU's dominant week where it picked three 20-plus point victories, including an 88-67 win over No. 8 Langston, Gamblin was named the HoopDirt.com NAIA Coach of the Week.
    • The Evangels have been establishing themselves as one of the best on-ball defensive teams in the country as MACU ranks 12th in the entire NAIA, allowing the opposition to score just 65.6 ppg while also possessing the second-lowest field goal defense in SAC play at 40.9 percent. MACU has also been getting the job done on the offensive end as well as MACU ranks fourth in the conference in scoring (74.4 ppg).
    • As a result of a tremendous week on the offensive end, senior guard Juwan White was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week. The Dacula, Georgia native received the accolade after finishing the three-game slate averaging 19.3 ppg on a stellar 58.3 percent shooting clip, which included an astounding 10-for-15 (66.7 percent) from the three-point arc. • John Brown was able to pick up one of its biggest home wins of the season against No. 8 Langston on Saturday as the Golden Eagles grinded out a 63-56 win inside Bill George Arena.
    • JBU enters Thursday night's game as the most prolific offensive teams in the SAC, averaging a league-best 78.5 ppg on a SAC-best 47.0 percent shooting clip and 39.7 percent three-point rate. The Golden Eagles have been slightly more challenged on the defensive end this season as JBU ranks in the middle of the pack in scoring defense (70.9 ppg, 7th) on 42.7 percent shooting, but do own the league's best three-point defense (29.7).
    • Much like the Evangels, the Golden Eagles feature a balanced offensive lineup with four players averaging in double-figures, led by Drew Miller. The senior guard enters the contest averaging 16.9 ppg on a solid 44.9 percent shooting clip and knocks down a highly efficient 37.1 percent from three-point range. Trae Oetting and LePra George are two guards who are effective catalysts for the JBU offense while Elijah Lawrence is one of the most dangerous three-point shooters in the league with a 43.3 percent clip from behind the arc.
    • While statistically the two teams were relatively even in their previous meeting inside Bill George Arena back on Nov. 21, the Evangels were unable to slow down JBU's blistering hot three-point shooting as the tandem of George and Miller were especially hot, combining to go 11-for-18 from downtown. The duo combined to score 27 and 26 points respectively while Josiah Fulcher led MACU with 20 points, but the Golden Eagles were able to fend off MACU for the 76-70 win.
