MATCH SUMMARY
  • First Half
    • Science & Arts started with the early pressure having the majority of the possession as Mid-America Christian were looking to counter. Ariana Solorio made her first save of the match in the 24th minute, followed by a second two minutes later denying Paula Casajus on both occasions.
    • The Evangels found the back of the net first in the 28th minute from its first corner kick of the match. Liv Houlston played a short ball to Jasie Eischen who returned it back to Houlston. Houlston put in a high looping cross that snuck over the goalkeeper's head and fell into the back post to give MACU a first-half advantage.
    • The Drovers pushed for an equalizer to close out the opening period, but with multiple corner kicks and shots, none were able to test Solorio's goal.
  • Second Half
    • USAO equalized just 90 seconds into the second half from a Daniela Salinas header with the delivery coming from Ilse de Jong on the corner kick.
    • Baker fired the first shot on goal for MACU in the second half in the 51st minute to force the first save of the night from Ashlyn Lonberg. The Evangels continued to look to find Baker as the outlet to start the counterattack.
    • The Evangels invited the pressure on as they survived waves of Drover attacks as Solorio came up with a massive save in the 59th minute to deny the go-ahead goal for USAO.
    • With three minutes remaining, Paula Casajus found herself 1-on-1 with the Evangel goalkeeper. Solorio made a fantastic save on the first attempt, denying the late winner, but Casajus stayed with it, and found the back of the net off the rebound. However, a late whistle brought the officials together, ultimately deciding that the ball deflected off the Drover attacker's hand, voiding what would surely have been the winner for USAO to steal all three points.
