OKLAHOMA CITY – After putting together another highly successful regular season campaign where the MACU Volleyball team finished third in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings for the third-straight year, middle blocker Seyi Atolagbe was selected as the SAC's Freshman of the Year while overall, the Evangels notched a program record four players on the top two teams.
Along with Atolagbe, senior libero Ryley Bowden was also selected to the First Team while senior outside hitter Alica Obusekova and senior setter Casady McKinney notched Second Team acclaim.
In her first year at MACU, Atolagbe has put up unprecedented hitting numbers as she leads the conference in hitting percentage at .391, 25 points higher than fellow All-SAC First Team honoree Sydney Alexander from Texas Wesleyan (.366) and 75 points in-front of another All-SAC freshman in Anna Brunner from College of the Ozarks (.316).
Ranking second on the team in kills with 250 and hitting only 39 attack errors on 540 swings, Atolagbe's hitting clip is on-pace to shatter the program's single-season hitting percentage record, held by Hannah Luedtke when she notched 160 kills with 24 errors on 419 attacks for a .325 hitting clip.
Atolagbe also is the team's leading blocker, tallying 76 total blocks on eight solo and 69 assisted for a 0.71 blocks per set average.
While Atolagbe has done some damage in the front row, Bowden has helped spearhead one of the best defensive back rows in the SAC, leading the conference with 491 total digs and posting the second-best digs per set rate at 4.59.
The Oklahoma City native has also been team's best in service, posting 49 aces on a 0.46 per set average. She currently has the ninth-most aces in a single season in the NAIA Era (2007-present) record book while her 0.46 average sits as the fifth-best rate in the book.
While Obusekova was one of the team's leading hitters a season ago, the senior from Bratislava, Slovakia elevated her game to a new level in the 2025 campaign as her 307 total kills ranks as the third-most in the league and her 3.01 kills per set clip was the fourth-highest in the SAC this season.
Obusekova has also been one of the team's more efficient hitters, posting the second-highest attack percentage on the squad at .222, which ranks 20th in the league and one of the highest clips for an outside hitter.
Rounding out the All-SAC honorees was McKinney, who is collecting her fourth All-SAC accolade in her four-year tenure with the Evangels. On-top of being the SAC Setter of the Year and an All-SAC First Team honoree in 2024, the Yukon, Okla. product has now received two All-SAC Second Team honors and an Honorable Mention acclaim in her freshman campaign.
McKinney was the team's leader from the setter position, dishing out 747 assists on a 6.98 per set rate while switching between a 5-1 and 6-2 setter rotation throughout the season. McKinney has also been an elite defender for MACU, ranking second on the squad with 306 digs on a 2.86 per set average while continuing to be lethal from the service line with 38 aces on a 0.36 per set rate.
