OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 23 MACU Women's Basketball team will wrap-up its three-game road stand tonight with a 6 p.m. tip-off against Science & Arts inside the USAO Fieldhouse.

SEASON REPORT
  • Record: 20-4 (16-4 SAC)
  • Last Game: Won at Central Christian – 96-50 – Feb. 10, 2025 – McPherson, Kan.
  • Stat Leaders:
  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian came out refreshed out of its bye week in a road win at Central Christian on Monday. Even though the Tigers hung around, trailing just 37-31 at the break, the Evangels put on a shooting clinic in the second half, outscoring CCCK 59-19 in the second half to pull away with the 96-50 victory.
    • In the win, MACU put together its best shooting performance of the season, knocking down 34-of-61 (55.7 percent) from the field despite going just 3-for-9 (33.3 percent) from the three-point arc. The Evangels also shot well from the foul line, going 25-for-31 (80.6 percent) to mark the first time this year the Evangels made 25 or more free throws while shooting 80 percent or better from the stripe.
    • The win was also a historic one for MACU head coach Hannah Moeller. Currently in her ninth season at MACU and her 13th season as a collegiate head coach after spending her first four years at Randall (formerly Hillsdale), Moeller impressively garnered her 300th career win in her 400th game as a collegiate head coach. Moeller will also have a shot at notching her 200th victory at MACU this season as she enters tonight's game with 195 wins with the Evangels with four regular season games left on-top of Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament and potentially NAIA Tournament play remaining.
    • Another member of the MACU Women's Basketball team is on the cusp of making history. Senior guard Shy Christopher by going 1-for-1 from the line in the win against the Tigers moved into a tie with another MACU legend in Alexis Shannon at the top of the program's NAIA Era (2007-present) career made free throws list at 345.

  • Team Notes:
    • Science & Arts is coming off two crucial SAC home wins last week as the Drovers defeated College of the Ozarks 75-63 on Feb. 6 before defeating John Brown 57-49 on Saturday. With the pair of victories, the Drovers locked up its spot in the SAC Tournament as USAO currently sits sixth in the league standings with a 12-8 record in SAC play.
    • Offensively, the Drovers rank in the middle of the pack in the SAC, posting the seventh-best scoring offense (64.4 ppg) but are defensively one of the best in the conference, boasting the fourth-best scoring defense (60.5 ppg). The Drovers have also been a solid team on the glass, ranking fifth in the SAC in rebounding margin (5.6).
    • While USAO does have a relatively balanced team with seven players averaging at least 5.9 points per game, Evangelina Davlakou has been the spark plug for the Drovers offense. The junior guard is the only player on the team that is averaging double-digits in scoring at 14.5 ppg and produces a strong floor game at 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
    • Mid-America Christian has fared well against their rivals from south as of late as the Evangels have won the last five meetings against Science & Arts. In their previous meeting inside the Gaulke Activity Center back on Jan. 2, the Drovers were able to hang with MACU, eventually cutting it to a one-point game with 1:41 left. However, MACU was able to dominate down the stretch as a Kylee Scheer jumper and a Mia Smith three on back-to-back possessions gave the Evangels some breathing room before going 7-of-8 from the foul line in the final minute to secure the 77-64 victory.
