No. 13 Baseball Set to Make First Appearance Under the Lights in Home Opener

OKLAHOMA CITY – No. 13 MACU Baseball returns to Oklahoma City for the home opener with the debut under the lights on the MACU Baseball Field with a first pitch slated for 6 p.m. against Randall.

Team Notes:
- Mid-America Christian is coming off a 1-3 weekend against two very good teams in (RV) Houston-Victoria and No. 14 Central Methodist. After splitting the doubleheader with UHV on Friday, the Evangels dropped a pair to Central Methodist on Saturday on Riverside Baseball Field in Victoria, Texas.
- Although it was not the results MACU was looking for, there were still some bright moments including Noel McGarry-Doyle picking up four hits on the weekend to move himself into second all-time in hits at MACU with 143, surpassing Felix Martinez's 142 from 2018-2020.
- First year Evangels Giordany Mendoza and Brett Justice had themselves a productive weekend as well, Mendoza slashed a 5-for-10 in the box with a homer, four RBIs, two runs scored and a pair of walks. Justice went 5-for-12 over the last four games with two doubles, a homer, four RBIs and three runs scored.
- Jonluke Hobdy continued his hot start to the year, he pieced together a 5-for-16 line with two doubles and two RBIs, he also was the only Evangel to score a run in all four games this last weekend, with the productive weekend Hobdy boosted his average to .375 with a whooping on base percentage of .500.

Team Notes:
- Randall will be opening up its 2025 season against MACU. The Saints saw their season conclude after losing both games played in the NCCAA regional. Randall finished the 2024 season with a record of 6-44.
- Randall returns a few of their leading hitters for the 2025 campaign in Evan McClendon and Brayden McMurtrey. McClendon hit .252 (32-for-127) with six doubles, a homerun and 14 runs batted in. McMurtrey posted similar numbers, he hit .250 (28-for-112) with two doubles and nine runs driven in.
- On the mound the Saints return two of their three top arms, junior pitchers Jared Herndon and Keegan Jenderseck. Herndon and Jenderseck both toppled 50 plus innings in 2024. The duo both finished the year with two complete games to their names.
- This will be the 43^rd match-up amongst the teams with MACU having an all-time record of 34-8 with an 11-game win streak attached.
