  • MACU threatened to score in the bottom of the second after Payton Matthews advanced to third on a stolen base and overthrow, Carlos Medina then walked, but Anthony Barrera got Giordany Mendoza to groundout on a sharpy hit ball to second to end the inning.
  • In the bottom of the third the Evangels put the first run across, Zachary Stark led off the frame with a single to left, and was courtesy ran for by Dyson Kinnaman. Kinnaman stole second and advanced to third on a flyout to right by Jacob Police and later scored on a liner up the middle by Noel McGarry-Doyle.
  • Hernandez worked a 1-2-3 fourth behind some help by left fielder Payton Matthews, who for the second time this weekend made a stellar full-extension dive in the left-center field gap to conclude the inning.
  • Nolan Smith led off the fifth with a single for the Bulldogs, but Hernandez retired the next three batters to keep the score at 1-0 in favor of MACU.
  • MACU plated three in the bottom of the fifth. Stark led off the inning with a walk, was courtesy ran for by Jojo Nieves, who advanced to third on a double to left by D'Andre Gaines. With second and third and one-away, Jacob Police hit a hard-hit ball that Georgetown's first basemen Nolan Smith was unable to come up with that allowed both Nieves and Gaines to score. Police was pinch-ran for by Dyson Kinnaman, who advanced to second on a hit-by-pitch to McGarry-Doyle and later scored on an RBI single to right by Jonluke Hobdy to extend the advantage to 4-0.

  • Park tied it up in the bottom of the second on a two-out solo shot to right by Zayne Morrow. • The Evangels got a run back in the sixth, with two-away and nobody on base, Medina pieced a double in the left-center gap to extend the inning. After Giordany Mendoza walked, Thompson dropped a single into shallow center that Pirates center fielder Yadiel Santana made a diving attempt but was unable to secure it, allowing Medina to score.
  • Chasing two in the seventh, Jonluke Hobdy rose to the occasion with a two-run blast to dead-center scoring McGarry-Doyle who led off the inning with a single to tie it up at 7-7.
  • Carlos Escobosa tossed a scoreless seventh to push it to extras, he threw a 1-2-3 inning with a pair of strikeouts and got some help from right fielder McGarry-Doyle who ranged back for an outstretched grab near the warning track to take an extra-base hit away from Ricardo Hernandez for the second out of the frame.
