Moeller Notches Co-Coach of the Year, Three Garner NCCAA All-Region Accolades

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) unveiled its 2024-25 Women's Basketball All-Central Region Team on Tuesday and for the second consecutive year, Mid-America Christian head coach Hannah Moeller was selected as the region's Co-Coach of the Year while the Evangels had three players earn All-Region acclaim.

Senior guards Kylee Scheer and Shy Christopher were both tabbed as First Team honoree while junior forward Harley Harbour garnered a Second Team nod.

With Scheer and Christopher being named to the First Team, both players will be in contention for NCCAA All-American honors.

Moeller was once again named Coach of the Year, sharing the honor with Wayland Baptist's Jason Cooper after guiding the Evangels to a 25-6 overall record at the conclusion of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament while the team finished third in the league standings with a 19-5 mark. As a result, the Evangels qualified for their fifth consecutive NAIA Tournament appearance.

In her ninth year with the program, Moeller guided the Evangels to their first ever appearance in the SAC Tournament Championship game after getting a pair of dominant victories by a 87-57 result over sixth-seed Science & Arts in the quarterfinal on Feb. 27 and a 97-67 victory over No. 20 Wayland Baptist in the semifinal on Mar. 3.

The Evangels picked up some massive victories during the regular season as well, notching a 69-64 win over last year's NAIA National Finalist No. 2 Providence (Mont.) inside the Gaulke Activity Center on Nov. 2, a 95-88 win over Mission (Mo.) in the MACU Classic on Nov. 9 and 67-56 victory over College of the Ozarks on Nov. 23.

Moeller set a pair of milestones during the course of the season, including her 300th collegiate coaching win in the victory at Central Christian on Feb. 10 as well as her 200th win at MACU in the victory over the Flying Queens in the SAC Semifinal.

In her second season at MACU, Scheer has put up outstanding all-around numbers for the Evangels over the course of the season. On-top of being the team's second-leading scorer with 454 points (15.1 ppg) while shooting 45.4 percent from the field, the Cheney, Kansas product was the team's leader in three-point shots, going 62-of-184 (33.7 percent) while also knocking down a highly efficient 58-for-75 (77.3 percent) from the charity stripe.

Scheer was also MACU's overall floor game leader, topping the team in rebounds (200, 6.7 rpg), assists (89, 3.0 apg) and steals (59, 2.0 spg). The senior guard was the only player to rank in the top 10 in the SAC in all three of these statistical categories as well as scoring average.

Scheer is collecting her second All-Region accolade after being a Second Team honoree in 2024.

In her third season with the Evangels, Christopher continued to be a dominant force for MACU on the offensive end as she enters NAIA Tournament as the team's scoring leader with 496 points (16.0 ppg) while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and was the team's leader at the foul line at 108-of-140 (77.1 percent).

The Jacksonville, Arkansas product much like Scheer is a strong producer with her floor game as she third on the team in rebounds (141, 4.5 rpg) and second in assists (78, 2.5 apg).

It is the third time that Christopher has been named to the NCCAA All-Central Region Team after being named the Central Region Player of the Year in 2024 and has been a two-time NCCAA First Team All-American during her first two years with the Evangels.

In her first season with the program, Harbour played a massive impact in the low post for the Evangels, despite missing the last 12 games of the season after suffering a season-ending knee injury on Jan. 20.

Before that injury, Harbour was posting incredible offensive and rebounding numbers for MACU, averaging 8.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while shooting a team-best 50.4 percent from the field and tallying four double-doubles on the season. The Frisco, Texas native was also a stellar defensive presence for MACU, ranking as one of the team's leaders in steals with 22 (1.2 spg) as well as blocked seven shots.

Mid-America Christian will resume postseason play on Friday as the Evangels will be playing in the Olathe, Kansas bracket of the NAIA Tournament and will square off against 10th-seeded Northwestern (Iowa) at 8 p.m. inside the Cook Center.
