GAME SUMMARY
  • It didn't take long for Mid-America Christian to strike first. After Kisbel Vizcaya legged out an infield single to third and was moved to second on Stormy Haynes' sac bunt to third, Serena Rodriguez delivered a deep two-out, RBI triple to left field that just barely got over the outstretched glove of left fielder Halle Zupan before coming across to score on an errant throw on the shortstop trying to get Rodriguez going to third.
  • Oklahoma Panhandle State threatened to score early when Trinity Higgins led off the bottom of the first with a line drive single to center, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch with no outs. However, MACU starting pitcher Chana Wolfe settled in by striking out the next three batters to keep it to a 2-0 game.
  • Mid-America Christian threatened to put up a crooked inning in the top of the second when the first three batters reached on Isabel Ray's bloop single into shallow left, Brooklyn Wilson reaching on a fielding error by the second baseman and Makenzie Thurman was hit by a pitch, loading the bases with nobody away. However, MACU was only able to generate one run on Stormy Haynes' infield single off the backhand glove of the pitcher with two outs to make it a 3-0 edge.
  • The Aggies once again threatened in the bottom of the second when Summer Marron led off the frame with a double to center, but once again, Wolfe got out of it by striking out a pair of batters and inducing a popout to keep the Aggies off the board.
  • In the top of the third, the Evangels loaded the bases on a trio of singles, two of which not leaving the infield with Serena Rodriguez, Isabel Ray and Brooklyn Wilson all reaching on knocks before Makenzie Thurman reached on an errant throw by the catcher after getting the fielder's choice out at home, allowing one run to score. The Evangels poured it on over the next two at-bats as a two-RBI double to left by Hallie Wilson followed by an RBI double by Vizcaya to left set the score to 7-0.
  • The Aggies managed to put one across in the bottom of the third after Higgins reached on a fielder's choice, stole two bases and then scored on Haeley Vasquez's base knock to center.
  • However, MACU answered right back with another four-run frame as Campbell and Rodriguez reached on a single and a walk before both runners nabbed a base on a double steal before Chavez hammered a two-RBI double down the left field line to make it 9-1. MACU added two more in the frame on an Isabel Ray RBI base hit up the middle before Thurman's sac fly to left scored Ray, setting the score to 11-1.
  • Oklahoma Panhandle State was able to get a little bit of the bats going in the bottom of the fourth as three runs scored on RBI doubles by Halle Zupan and Kaylynn Du Preez as well as an RBI single by Higgins, closing it to 11-4.
  • The Evangels got two more runs back in the top of the third as Campbell's hustle double to left, a steal of third and RBI singles by Chavez and Brooklyn Wilson closed out the scoring at 13-4.

PITCHING DECISIONS TOP PERFORMERS SCORING SUMMARY GAME SUMMARY
  • Much like the first game, the Evangels were able to generate runs early as five of the first seven batters reached base on four base-hits and a hit-by-pitch as Isabel Ray's two-RBI single up the middle and Makenzie Thurman's RBI base hit to center to make it a 3-0 game.
  • In the top of the second, MACU blew the game wide open by pushing across six runs on five hits and an error as Emylee Campbell's grounder to short on an error allowed one run to score with the bases loaded before Serena Rodriguez hammered a two-RBI double to center to double-up the lead at 6-0. A Brooklyn Wilson sacrifice fly to right plated Campbell before Rodriguez scored no a passed ball as MACU closed out the scoring on Kayten Herman's pinch-hit RBI single to center brought home Thurman, making it a 9-0 ballgame.
  • Oklahoma Panhandle State's best chance to score came in the bottom of the second as the Aggies loaded the bases with no outs on three consecutive singles, but Gia Reynosa got out of the hairy situation by inducing a popout to third and then a fielder's choice groundout double play to third to keep the nine-run advantage.
  • MACU extended its advantage in the fourth when Campbell reached on a leadoff single, stole second, advanced to third on a flyout and scored on Isabel Ray's misplayed grounder to short, making it a double-digit advantage.
  • After getting runners to second and third with two down, Hallie Wilson drove one in on a ground ball single to the shortstop before Talyn Lerma hammered a two-RBI double to the right-center field gap to bring it to 13-0.
  • MACU closed out the scoring in the top of the fifth on Stormy Haynes leadoff double down the third base line before scoring on Rodriguez's base knock up the middle to wrap-up the 14-0 victory.
GAME NOTES
  • The Evangels scored their season-high 14 runs on 15 hits while Oklahoma Panhandle State finished with five hits and made three miscues.
  • Much like game one, the hits were spread around with 10 different players recording hits for the Evangels while five tallied two hits in the contest.
  • Serena Rodriguez and Isabel Ray were the two biggest run producers for the Evangels as Rodriguez slashed 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run while Ray slashed 1-of-4 with pair of runs.
  • Once again, Emylee Campbell was troublesome for the Aggies on the basepath as she once again hit 2-for-4 with a team-high three runs and nabbed a pair of bases. Hallie Wilson also recorded a pair of steals after slashing 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run.
  • Stormy Haynes continued to be a thorn in the side for OPSU in the two-hole, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, a pair of runs and a stolen bag.
  • The Evangels went with the platoon at pitching as Gia Reynosa tossed two scoreless innings, allowing four hits and walk with a strikeout. Brooke Wyatt got her first MACU win in the circle after tossing three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and no walks while striking out three.
  • On the whole, the Evangels wrapped up an incredible day from the dish by combining for 27 runs on 31 total hits between the two games.
