  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian comes off a pair of tight-knitted wins to advance to the final four of the SAC Tournament, defeating Nelson 6-3 and 6-5 last Friday April 25th. Taiga Sakuma led the charge with a whooping seven hits on the day, he finished 7-for-10 with a homer, a pair of RBIs, three runs, a couple stolen bases and most importantly was the recipient of the walk-off single to beat the Lions 6-5 in game two Friday night. Sakuma's legendary day credited him SAC Player of the Week for the second time this season.
    • Cristopher Munoz and Jonluke Hobdy tallied four hits apiece through the doubleheader, Munoz slashed a .500 average behind a 4-for-8 line with a double and four driven in. Hobdy added a solo shot while finishing 4-for-9.
    • The Evangels did a good job limiting the damage against Nelson, allowing just eight runs over the course of 19 innings, Brock Cordes and Gabriel Dixon were brilliant, as they both earned wins in the twin bill. Cordes tossed a season-high for MACU with eight innings, allowing three runs on three hits, four walks and six strikeouts. Dixon earned the save with a scoreless ninth that included a couple of strikeouts. In game two Dixon trotted back out onto the mound and fanned five while putting up two scoreless frames. Dixon remains dominant in the closer role, as he picked up his third save of the season and has yet to allow an earned run in seven innings in relief.
    • MACU seeks to repeat as SAC Tournament Champions, they will have a tough route as they begin with Science & Arts, if the Evangels win they will move on to Sunday to play the winner of Oklahoma City and Wayland Baptist. However, if the Evangels lose to USAO they will face the loser of OCU and WBU at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow in a win or go home game

    • The Drovers have won five of their last six, they have not allowed more than six runs in a game during the stretch, overall USAO leads the SAC with a staff ERA of 4.70, which is nearly a whole run lower than MACU who ranks second in the SAC with a 5.57 clip.
    • Offensively USAO is hitting a solid .323 as a unit, they are led by Gage Ninness, Cristopher Martinez, Gunnar Hansen and Payton McDowall. The quadrium all has produced 40-plus RBI's, totaling 185 of the 336 runs driven in. Ninness and Henderson lead the team in hitting with both hitting above .360.
    • Mid-America Chrisitan historically has not had the most success against the Drovers, however in the last two years they stand 6-3 over they last nine matchups, including winning two-of-three last year over USAO in the SAC Tournament.
