OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Soccer team returned to Sooner Athletic Conference play at the Dill Soccer Field on Monday evening as the Evangels dominated from the first whistle in an 8-0 victory over Central Christian on Futbol Fiesta Night.

MATCH SUMMARY

• First Half
  • Brae Baker opened the scoring for the Evangels in the 11^th minute as MACU mustered five shots before finding the breakthrough. Baker made it 2-0 just two minutes later, assisted by Stephanie Arrivillaga and Mikayla Van Blaricom.
  • Baker had her hat trick in the opening 25 minutes for her eighth goal of the season as Rosina Mastro credited the assist on the third. Baker scored all four first half Evangel goals as she found the back of the net once again in the 29^th minute.
  • Mid-America Christian pushed for a fifth in the final 15 minutes of the half. Morgan Higgins fired two shots on frame, but the lead stayed at 4-0 after the opening 45 minutes.
• Second Half
  • Mikayla Van Blaricom scored her first goal in Evangel colors in the 54^th minute to make it 5-0. The onslaught continued as freshman Jenna Banks gave MACU a 6-0 advantage with her first collegiate goal in the 60^th minute.
  • The Evangels weren't finished yet as Rosina Mastro scored the seventh goal just before the hydration break in the 68^th minute. Mastro scored her fourth goal of the season. Katia Marquez scored the eighth and final goal, the third first-time goal scorer of the contest as Brae Baker continued her historic evening by registering the assist to Marquez's goal in the 76^th minute.
  • MACU was able to rest the starters for the final 15 minutes. However, the Evangels continued to knock on the door but was unable to score a ninth as it finished MACU eight, Central Christian zero.

MATCH NOTES

• MACU dominated offensively with a season-high 48 shots and 19 shots on goal. The Evangels also recorded 17 corner kicks.
• Brae Baker led offensive duties with four goals in the opening 25 minutes. Baker scored four goals for the first time in her collegiate career and has totaled eight goals on the season. Brae's four goals get her into the record books for second-most goals scored in a single game. Rosina Mastro scored her fourth goal of the season, Mikayla Van Blaricom, Jenna Banks, and Katia Marquez each scored their first goal for Mid-America Christian.
• Izzy Dooley recorded a team-high two assists. Van Blaricom, Mastro, Stephanie Arrivillaga, Baker, and Liv Houlston all notched an assist.
• Niamh Taylor played the first half and saved the two shots she faced. Ariana Solorio closed out the contest and made a save in the final 45 minutes.
• Mid-America Christian improves to 2-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference play to sit joint top of the table heading into the second week of conference play.  
• MACU improved to 13-4 all-time against Central Christian and extended its win streak over the Tigers to 11 straight, dating back to the 2019 season. The 8-0 win is the largest margin of victory in this matchup.
