    • Mid-America Christian: 3-2-1
    • Bellevue (Neb.): 3-0-2
SCORING SUMMARY

  • 2nd Half – 45:34 – BU – Goal: Adi Kasel (8) – MACU 0, BU 2
MATCH SUMMARY
  • First Half
    • The Bruins capped off a good opening 10 minutes of possession with the opening goal coming off a perfect cross into the box. The headed finish from Adi Kasel was her seventh goal of the season and the opener for Bellevue in the eighth minute.
    • The Evangels continued on the back foot for the majority of the first half as Niamh Taylor came up big on a couple of saves to keep the deficit at one. Lexi Swetz saw an opening in the 37th minute in search of the equalizer. Swetz effort drifted just past the left post as MACU trailed 1-0 at the halftime break.
  • Second Half
    • Just 33 seconds into the second period, Kasel had the Bruins' second goal after a defensive collapse allowed the shot attempt that snuck past Taylor's goal into the bottom right corner.
    • The Evangels responded well to the early second half concession with consecutive corner kicks from Stephanie Arrivillaga that loomed dangerously but dealt with by Bellevue.
    • In the 66th minute, Arrivillaga forced a save out of the Bruins' goalkeeper, challenging her near side post. Brae Baker tested the keeper both in the 78th and 83rd, but again the Evangels' late efforts were to no avail as MACU fell by a final score of 2-0.
MATCH NOTES
  • For just the second time this season, the Evangels were outshot in the contest by a 21-12 margin and eight to three on goal difference. However, they did manage three shots on goal against a Bellevue side who had only allowed four shots on target through its first four games.
  • Brae Baker led offensive duties once again with both her shots ending up on frame. Lexi Swetz also got three shots off, but none were able to hit the target.
  • Niamh Taylor was called upon for six saves, her second highest mark of the season.
  • MACU dropped to 1-2 all-time against Bellevue with the series starting in the 2023 season and renewed here in 2026 after the sides didn't mean during the 2025 campaign.
NEXT UP
  • Mid-America Christian hits the road for the first time in the 2026 campaign with its first ranked opponent of the season as the Evangels face No. 21 Columbia on Sept. 10 for a 4:30 P.M. kickoff in Missouri.
