Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Cris Smith celebrated Senior Night in style by recording a team-high 12 kills to surpass the 800 kill mark to lead the Mid-America Christian Lady Evangels to a 3-0 victory over the St. Gregory's Cavaliers Thursday night (Nov. 4) at the Gaulke Activity Center.
The Lady Evangels won their Sooner Athletic Conference regular season finale by scores of 26-24, 25-19, 25-17.
Smith, a senior from Sao Palo Brazil, hit a solid .417 and chipped in with seven digs and three assisted blocks on the night.
As a team, the Lady Evangels (13-23, 3-11 SAC) produced a .283 hitting percentage, including a .355 and .346 tally in the second and third sets.
Calle Solie led MACU with 26 assists to go along with nine digs, while Shelbi Johnson recorded a match-high 10 digs.
Brittania Simmons had a match-high 14 kills to lead the Cavaliers (8-21, 0-14 SAC).
Ali Mckeon led everybody with 29 assists for SGU.
The Lady Evangels will next host the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Regionals on Nov. 19-20.
Opponents and game times are still to be determined.
