OKLAHOMA CITY -- A trio of Mid-America Christian University Volleyball players have earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors, the league announced today (Nov. 15). Juniors Hannah Luedtke and Shannon Niemeier were second-team selections, while junior Camera Broadnax was an honorable-mention performer.
Luedtke recorded a team-high 630 assists this season and was sixth in the SAC in assists per set (6.2). A solid all-around player, Luedtke also led the Lady Evangels in blocks (67), which ranked ninth in the league and was second on the team in digs (240).
Despite missing the first 10 matches of the season, Niemeier paced the Lady Evangels with 271 kills and was third in the SAC in kills per set (3.8).
Broadnax boasted a team-best 418 digs this season and finished in the top five of the SAC in digs per set (4.1, fourth) and digs (fifth). She was also second in the SAC in digs in conference matches (262).
The deck should be stacked for the Lady Evangels next season, as head coach Mike Freeman is expected to welcome back nine letterwinners, including this All-SAC threesome.
