No. 18 Lady Bison Sweep Lady Evangels, 3-0

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The No. 18-ranked Oklahoma Baptist University Lady Bison swept the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels 3-0 in a Sooner Athletic Conference matchup today (Sept. 20) inside the Gaulke Activity Center.

The opening set saw both teams trade points and kills from Athena Koch and Larissa Runyan pulled the Lady Evangels within 14-11.  From there, OBU took over when consecutive kills from Cory Grant capped a 6-0 spurt to lead by nine and the Lady Bison went on to a 25-14 win.

It was more of the same in the second stanza as kills by Shannon Niemeier and Mary Burkhead helped MACU to an early 6-5 lead.

But three kills from Priscila Mendes fueled a 9-1 spurt to put the Lady Bison in control and OBU coasted to a 25-13 second set win to lead 2-0.

OBU then took control of the third set early and ended the match with a 25-12 win.

Shannon Niemeier led the Lady Evangels (2-12, 0-4 SAC) with a match-high 11 kills along with three assists and five digs.  Hannah Luedtke recorded a team-high 18 assists and Camera Broadnax had a team-best nine digs.
