OKLAHOMA CITY – Head coach Faith Avalos of the Mid-America Christian University volleyball team has announced the Lady Evangels' 2018 summer volleyball camps. The camps will be a part of a summer full of volleyball centered activities that the MACU program will host on their campus in the Gaulke Activity Center.
"I am excited to be able to offer different opportunities this summer for people to come play volleyball at MACU," noted Avalos. "Summer camps are a great way to learn new skills, develop as an athlete and leader, and have fun! I look forward to working with everyone this summer!"
The Lady Evangels will host an all-day skills camp for both middle and high school players during the first week of June. The camps will run from June 5-8, with the day split into a middle school session from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and a high school session from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. each day. The cost for the camp, which will focus on the total development of the player, is $40 per camper per day, and $150 per camper for the week. To register, visit the volleyball homepage on the MACU athletics website at macuathletics.com.
MACU will also offer opportunities to put on satellite camps in which Coach Avalos will be available to come to a school to host a camp provided there are at least 10 campers participating. Satellite camps may be from one to three days in length, with sessions of three or four hours in duration. Prices for those camps, broken down per player, are available on MACU's athletic website as well, or you can contact Coach Avalos at faith.avalos@macu.edu for more information or to book your camp.
Finally, MACU volleyball also announced the summer "MACU Mondays." The volleyball program will host open gym sessions each Monday night from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. The sessions are open to anyone 13 years of age and older, and the cost is $10 per night.
All opportunities this summer are open to both boys and girls.
