Ely Adames Slams Walk-Off Homer In 11th Inning, Baseball Splits With Wayland Baptist

TUTTLE, Okla. – Senior centerfielder Yan Ely Adames came up clutch for the MACU baseball team in its first game of a doubleheader played at Tuttle High School on Sunday afternoon as his solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning propelled the Evangels to a dramatic 3-2 victory over Wayland Baptist before falling in a 1-0 pitcher's duel in the nightcap.

  • Despite suffering the loss, junior starter Brad White pitched very well in a complete game, allowing just one earned run on five hits with three walks and tied a season-high 10 strikeouts.
  • Isaiah Haddad and Joe Balak recorded the only two hits for MACU, both singles.
  • Both games were played at the Tuttle High School baseball field due to unsatisfactory field conditions due to the thunderstorms that rolled through Oklahoma City on Thursday night and Friday morning.
