MACU Places 101 Student-Athletes On 2020-21 SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its Commissioner's Honor Roll on Wednesday as Mid-America Christian placed 101 student-athletes from its seven varsity sports on the esteemed list.

To be named to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must compete on a SAC-recognized sport and completed the full 2020-21 academic year with a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale while enrolled at the qualifying institution.

The MACU women's soccer placed the most of all of MACU's varsity athletic programs, landing 21 from the squad while the softball program had 20 of its 23 student-athletes make the list. The MACU men's soccer team tallied the most of the Evangels' men's varsity programs, turning in 17 while the baseball program came away with 16 honorees.

It is the second year in a row that Mid-America Christian lauded 100 or more student-athletes on the Commissioner's Honor Roll after turning in 106 during the 2019-20 academic year.

In the seventh year of the Sooner Athletic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, the league turned in a record-setting 1,389 student-athletes. MACU performed at a high level of excellence across the conference as one of eight institutions to have at least 100 student-athletes named to the list while also participating in the fewest recognized sports among the league's 11 full-time members.
