OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference unveiled its 2021-22 Basketball Scholar-Athletes, presented by Barnes and Noble College on Wednesday as six members of the Mid-America Christian women's basketball program and three student-athletes from the men's team earned the academic achievement.

In order to earn SAC Scholar-Athlete accolades, a student-athlete must maintain no lower than a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, be a junior or higher by academic standing, attended the nominating institution for at least two years as a non-transfer or one year as a transfer and appear on the program's NAIA eligibility certificate.

On the women's side, five of the six recipients are repeat winners of the SAC Scholar-Athlete award as Lexi Hernandez, Ossyana Ozoani and Sydney Wycoff are earning their third accolade while McKenzi Lamer and Kyleigh Leverich are two-time honorees.

Toni Kumanovic has also put together a stellar career in the classroom on the men's basketball team as he is earning his third SAC Scholar-Athlete award.
