OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference officially announced its 2023-24 Scholar-Athletes on Thursday as Mid-America Christian notched a program-record 85 recipients of the esteemed accolade, the second-most of any institution within the league.

To earn SAC Scholar-Athlete acclaim, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore by academic standing, completed at least one academic year at the nominating institution and maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average.

The Evangels eclipsed last year's record of 80 student-athletes that earned the SAC Scholar-Athlete award while impressively doing so with the third-fewest sports of any institution in the conference.

Baseball and men's soccer notched the most Scholar-Athlete nods of MACU's men's sports with 19 each while softball and women's soccer recorded the most of the Evangels' women's programs with 13 apiece.
