KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its Men's Basketball All-America list on Monday as senior guard Josiah Fulcher was tabbed to the Third Team.
The Sooner Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and All-SAC First Team performer is collecting his second All-America accolade after earning National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Second Team acclaim last week.
Fulcher is the fifth Evangels player since the program joined the NAIA in 2007 to be selected to the All-America list, joining Terrance Gaines (2020-21, 3rd Team), Ashford Golden (2019-20, 1st Team), Nick Tate (2015-16, 2nd Team), Semar Farris (2013-14, 2nd Team; 2014-15, 1st Team) and Charlie Shorter (2012-13, 1st Team).
In his lone season with MACU, the Lima, Ohio product was the team's most productive offensive player, scoring 491 points (15.8 ppg) on a solid 187-of-389 (48.1 percent) shooting, including 43-for-122 (35.2 percent) from three and 74-for-88 (84.1 percent) from the foul line.
Fulcher also provided a phenomenal floor game for MACU throughout the season, leading the team in rebounds with 175 (5.6 rpg), was second in assists (78, 2.5 apg) and second in steals (38, 1.2 spg).
The combo guard was the centerpiece of an Evangels team that once again put together a sensational season under 10th-year head coach Josh Gamblin as MACU wrapped up the year with a 22-9 overall record and finished in a tie for second in the SAC standings with a 17-7 league mark.
As a result, the Evangels qualified for their eighth NAIA Tournament in the last 11 years, including six of the last seven years before seeing its season come to an end in the First Round against an Oklahoma Wesleyan team that advanced all the way to the NAIA National Championship game.
