Noel McGarry-Doyle Signs with Frontier League’s Ottawa Titans

OKLAHOMA CITY – After completing one of the most historic careers in MACU Baseball program history, Noel McGarry-Doyle has officially signed on with the Ottawa Titans from the Frontier League, a professional partner league for Major League Baseball.

The recently graduated outfielder from Maple, Ontario, Canada got the call-up after a short six-game stint with the Barrie Baycats from the Inter-County Baseball League, a semi-pro league based out of Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

In that six-game stretch with the Baycats, McGarry-Doyle slashed .318 with a pair of doubles and a homer for three RBIs while drawing four walks for a .444 on-base percentage and a .989 OPS.

"Noel is very deserving of this opportunity," said MACU Baseball head coach Brett Stanton. "He is one of the most prolific players in MACU history and has left a major impact on the school and program as a whole."

Back in May, McGarry-Doyle led the Evangels to their deepest run ever in the NAIA Tournament as MACU advanced all the way to the NAIA Opening Round Championship before seeing its run come to an end after falling to eventual undefeated NAIA National Champion, LSU Shreveport.

In the NAIA Tournament, McGarry-Doyle was downright deadly from the dish, batting .478 with a triple and six homers for 18 RBIs and nine runs scored over the five-game stretch.

As a result, McGarry-Doyle wrapped up his senior campaign with a .404 batting average with a team-high 78 hits with nine doubles, a triple and 14 homers for a single-season record 72 RBIs and 56 runs. McGarry-Doyle also posted a program record .538 on-base percentage after drawing a team-high 41 walks and was hit by 16 pitches while nabbing 28 bases.

His 78 hits and 41 walks drawn marked the second-most in a single season in program history while also setting single season top five marks in home runs (14, 3rd), total bases (131, 3rd), stolen bases (28, 3rd), OPS (1.217, 5th) and hit-by-pitch (16, 5th).

As a result of the great season, McGarry-Doyle was named an NCCAA Third Team All-American, becoming the first player in program history to earn the All-American accolade three times.

In wrapping up his incredible three-year tenure at MACU, McGarry-Doyle seized seven career program records, which include on-base percentage (.510), triples (10), RBIs (190), runs (169), walks (95), hit-by-pitch (42) and stolen bases (54).

On-top of the records he did break, McGarry-Doyle also placed in the top five in eight other statistical categories, including batting average (.394, 2nd), OPS (1.190, 2nd), hits (214, 2nd), home runs (34, 2nd), total bases (369, 2nd), at-bats (543, 3rd), slugging percentage (.680, 4th), and double (33, 4th).

McGarry-Doyle is the second player in the last two years to sign a contract with the Frontier League. Following the conclusion of the 2024 campaign, starting pitcher Isaac Baez was inked to the New York Boulders.
