Track & Field Closes Out Regular Season at Pittsburg State Tune-Up

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The MACU Track & Field team completed its last dress rehearsal before it starts postseason competition at the Pittsburg State Tune-Up on Sunday as the Evangels overall competed in four events at the Pittsburg Track Complex.

MEN'S EVENT RESULTS MEN'S EVENT SUMMARY
  • In the 100-meter dash prelims, Jagger Jay posted his second-fastest time of the 2026 outdoor season when he crossed the finish line in 11.25, also cementing the second-fastest mark in MACU's record book.
  • Competing in the invitational portion of the 800-meter against NCAA D-II and high-level JUCO competition, Chase Cotarelo continued his excellence in the event when he posted his new personal-best time of 1:55.32. The mark not only set the second-fastest outdoor 800-meter time in MACU's record book, but also re-established the fifth-fastest finish in the NCCAA this season.
  • In the open portion of the 800-meter, Cameron Pearson posted his fastest time of the outdoor season when he crossed the line in 2:07.04. Blake Jensen finished right behind with a time of 2:07.54.
  • Pearson notched MACU's fastest time in the 1500-meter event as well when he turned in a 4:15.08, his fastest mark set during the 2026 season thus far. Jensen posted his personal-best as well when he finished with a 4:15.43. Competing in his first ever 1500-meter event, Aidan Collins, a traditional longer distance runner for the Evangels tallied a time of 4:16.13.

WOMEN'S EVENT SUMMARY
  • Kaia Henry was the lone women's runner to compete at the Pittsburg State Tune-Up. In the 1500-meter event, Henry ran her second-fastest time of the season with a time of 7:11.62.

  • Mid-America Christian will head to Waxahachie, Texas this week to compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships from April 24-25 at the Lions Athletic Complex.
