OKLAHOMA CITY – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) have announced their spring sports Scholar-Athletes. On the NAIA side, Mid-America Christian had 17 baseball players, two men's track & field, and one softball athlete earn the acclaim. When it came to NCCAA Scholar-Athletes, the Evangels raked in 32 baseball Scholar-Athlete honors and two softball accolades.
To earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete accolades, a student-athlete needs to be at least a sophomore by academic standing, maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average, and have completed at least one academic year at the institution at the time of nomination.
For garnering NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honors, a student-athlete must be at least a junior by academic standing, maintain at least a 3.40 cumulative GPA, and completed at least one semester at the nominating institution.
