Mid-America Christian Finishes Second in 2025-26 SAC Commissioner’s Cup Standings

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its annual Commissioner's Cup results on Wednesday morning as Mid-America Christian finished just shy of completing the three-peat as the Evangels finished second in the final standings.

The SAC Commissioner's Cup are determined on a points-based system determined on where teams finish in their respective conference standings at the end of the regular season and the team that has the highest scoring average is the recipient of the Cup.

The Evangels earned a 0.7526 scoring average, finishing ahead of Nelson (0.7276) and John Brown (0.6888) and only behind Oklahoma City at 0.7950.

After the program was started during the 2022-23 athletic year, MACU has finished in the top three in all four years thus far, winning the cup in 2023-24 and 2024-25 and placing third in the inaugural year of the trophy.

Once again, the Evangels performed well across its athletic teams, placing in the top four of the their respective sport in seven of its 11 competing sports.

Despite not having any regular season champions during the 2025-26 season, the MACU Women's Basketball team and Baseball teams each finished second in their standings and captured the SAC Tournament titles in their respective sports. Men's Soccer, Volleyball, and Men's Cross Country earned third-place finishes in their final standings while Women's Soccer and Softball placed fourth.
