Lady Evangels move up to No. 7 in latest NCCAA Top 10 Poll

Oklahoma City, Okla. -- The undefeated Mid-America Christian Lady Evangels have moved up two spots to No. 7 in the latest National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) Top 10 Poll, announced by the national office.
The Lady Evangels are now 10-0 and 3-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference after posting consecutive overtime victories over Lubbock Christian and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

Julia Nimal delivered the game-winner in the second overtime period that gave MACU a 1-0 win over LCU, while Kassie Byrd followed suit and nailed the game-winning shot in the first overtime for a 3-2 victory over USAO.

Goalkeeper Melissa Dobie and the Lady Evangels' defense has been especially stingy this season.  The Lady Evangels have allowed only three goals on the season and Dobie ranks third in the NAIA with an 0.31 goals-against-average.

Another test awaits MACU as they will next play at No. 23-ranked (NAIA) Oklahoma City on Saturday evening (Oct. 9) at 5 p.m.
