Bertha Fajardo and Kelsey Morris earn NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete honor

Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Junior defenders Bertha Fajardo and Kelsey Morris have each been named to the NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete squad, the organization announced today.
Fajardo contributed two assists on the pitch and achieved a 3.52 grade-point-average in business adminstration, while Morris majored in music performance with a 3.75 GPA.

Both are Oklahoma City natives that played key roles on the defensive end in helping the Mid-America Christian Lady Evangels produce their best season in school history.

Fajardo and Morris were solid contributors to a defensive effort that notched 12 shutouts on the season.

The duo also helped the Lady Evangels finished with an all-time best 16-4-1 overall record, with an 8-2-1 record in the Sooner Athletic Conference that was good enough for a third-place finish.

To qualify for this award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have reached at least a junior academic status at the nominating institution.
