Kassie Byrd has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women's Soccer Division I Player of the Week, the organization announced today.
Byrd scored four of MACU's six goals to lead the Lady Evangels to a 2-0 record this past week that included a pair of conference victories over Oklahoma Baptist and at St. Gregory's.
The Noble, Okla. native scored two goals in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Oklahoma Baptist and then both of the Lady Evangels' goals to fuel a 2-0 victory at St. Gregory's.
She currently has a team-high 11 goals on the season for the Lady Evangels, which is tied for second in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Byrd and the 7-1 Lady Evangels are set to play at Oklahoma Christian tonight (Oct. 4) at 5 p.m. in Edmond, Okla.
