Women's Soccer rolls into NCCAA Regional title game with 4-0 win SAGU, but Men's Soccer season ends with 2-0 loss at SAGU

Waxahachie, Texas -- The top-seeded Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels rolled over the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lady Lions for the second time this season to advance to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Regional championship match tomorrow afternoon against Colorado Christian.

However, the men's soccer squad wasn't as fortunate, falling 2-0 to the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions in regional semifinal to conclude their season.  The Evangels wrapped up the year with an overall record of 2-12-3.

The high-scoring duo of junior forwards Kassie Byrd and Julia Nimal again led the way for the Lady Evangels (12-6-1). Byrd scored twice, while Nimal added a goal and an assist.

Kaci Power tallied the Lady Evangels' other goal, while Nicole Farquhar, Michelle Medina and Allison Swyden each recorded an assist.

The regional title game against Colorado Christian is set for noon tomorrow (Nov. 19).
