Waxahachie, Texas -- Julia Nimal scored two goals as goalkeeper Melissa Dobie and the Mid-America Christian Lady Evangels picked up where they left off last season with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Southwestern Assemblies of God Lady Lions in their season opener Wednesday evening (Aug. 24) in Waxahachie, Texas.

Freshmen Kaci Power and Chelsea Swisher also played a key role in the win, with Power scoring her first career goal and Swisher adding a pair of assists.

The season-opening shutout comes on the heels of an 11 shutout season for Dobie last year.

The Lady Evangels will next host Southwestern Christian on Sept. 6.  The match is slated for 2 p.m. at Evangel Field.
