Byrd's hat trick lifts Lady Evangels to 4-1 win over NCAA D-II Western State

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Kassie Byrd recorded her third career hat trick to lead the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels to their first ever win against an NCAA D-II opponent, 4-1 over the Western State College of Colorado Mountaineers Saturday afternoon (Sept. 22) at MACU Soccer Field.

Byrd's first goal came at the 24:54 mark off a feed from Chelsea Swisher that she lofted in from a right angle.

Byrd though completed the hat trick and gave the Lady Evangels (4-2) some breathing room by hitting from 20 yards out at the 68:57 mark.

Swisher then put it away for MACU with a score five minutes later at the 73:18 point.
