OKLAHOMA CITY -- The No. 19-ranked Oklahoma City University Stars snapped a 1-1 tie early in the second half and that proved to be enough to defeat the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels 2-1 in a Sooner Athletic Conference matchup Friday evening (Oct. 25) on the OCU campus.
Makalya Brown netted the game-winner by taking a pass from Allison Worsham to the center of the box just four minutes into the second half.
Worsham also assisted on Megan McMahon's goal that put OCU on top in the 28th minute of the first half.
Ciara Mitchell then tied it up for the Lady Evangels (9-6, 3-5 SAC) on a penalty kick at the 36:51 mark.
OCU (10-4, 6-1 SAC) held a 19-7 edge in shot attempts and a 9-3 advantage in shots-on-goal.
The Lady Evangels will next play at John Brown University next Wednesday (Oct. 30) at 1 p.m. in Siloam Springs, Ark.
