Ft. Worth, Texas -- Kaitlyn Whitten made eight saves in shutting out the Texas Wesleyan University Lady Rams 2-0 to help the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels snap a two-game losing skid and hand the Lady Rams their first Sooner Athletic Conference loss tonight (Oct. 14) in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The Lady Rams (7-3, 3-1 SAC) out-shot the Lady Evangels 26-8 overall and 8-3 on-goal, but Whitten stopped every shot she faced in the victory.

Meanwhile, the Lady Evangels made the most of their shot attempts as Cici Mitchell found the net from 25 yards away by putting in a shot off the cross bar at the 24:27 mark.

Chelsea Swisher then gave the Lady Evangels (9-3, 2-2 SAC) some breathing room by scoring in the 83rd minute for her team-leading 14th goal of the season.

The Lady Evangels are next scheduled to host Southwestern Christian University Friday afternoon (Oct. 17) at 1 p.m. at  MACU Soccer Field.
