Women's Soccer Lady Evangels Pull Out 2-1 OT Win Over SAGU

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Kaci Power netted the game-winning goal three minutes into the first overtime period to lift the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels to a 2-1 victory over the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lady Lions today (Oct. 20) at MACU Soccer Field.

The win moves the Lady Evangels above the .500 mark in the Sooner Athletic Conference at 3-2-1 and into a tie for fifth place in the league.

Power's score came off an assist from Rochelle Bohuslavicky at the 93:41 mark overall of the match.

Laura Barba had put the Lady Lions on top after getting a pass from Kaitlyn Flippen and gaining a one on one opportunity with the keeper to score at the 27:54 mark of the opening half.

But Cici Mitchell brought the Lady Evangels even by putting in a loose ball in the box following a save just 2:08 into the second half.

The Lady Evangels (6-6-1, 3-2-1 SAC) out-shot the Lady Lions 29-15 overall and 15-8 on-goal, led by Mitchell's 11 shots and seven shots-on-goal.

Kaitlyn Whitten stopped seven shots for MACU, with Kathleen Espinoza recording 13 saves for SAGU (7-8, 1-5 SAC).

The Lady Evangels will next host USAO Friday afternoon (Oct. 23) at 1 p.m.
