Lady Evangels Cruise to 6-0 Win Over Columbia International to Move Within One Game of NCCAA National Championship Match

Kissimmee, Fla. -- The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels are now one win away from competing for a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship after dispatching of the Columbia International University Rams tonight (Dec. 1) at Austin Tindall Park in Kissimmee, Fla.

"Really proud of our team and we are excited to be one game away from a national title match," MACU co-head coach Zach Bice said.

The Lady Evangels dominated throughout, limiting the Rams to only one shot overall and no shots-on-goal.

MACU got two goals each from Cici Mitchell and Brittney Stephens, with Kaci Power and Taylor Moseley also recording a goal.

Rochelle Bohuslavicky dished out two assists, starting with Mitchell's first goal at the 18:42 mark of the first half.

Moseley scored the Lady Evangels second goal five minutes later off an assist from Zana Bryan before assisting on Stephens' first goal in the 40th minute that made it 3-0 at the break.

Power then got into the scoring act at the 57:54 mark of the second half on a feed from Bohuslavicky and Mitchell quickly made it 5-0 just two minutes later.

Stephens then finished out the scoring for the Lady Evangels in the 75th minute.

The third-seeded Lady Evangels (12-8-1) are now 2-0 in Pool B and will face second-seeded Houghton University, who has also won both of their Pool matches.  The match will begin Thursday evening (Dec. 3) at 6:30 (CST). With both schools undefeated in pool play, the winner will advance to the NCCAA National Championship match against the winner of Pool A Saturday afternoon (Dec. 5) at 2 p.m. (CST).

"We played much better tonight than we did last night," Bice said. "Hopefully we can improve on tonight's match and be ready for Thursday. It was good to get goals from different players tonight."
