Jezioro Lifts Lady Evangels to Thrilling 2-1 OT Win Over Southwestern College

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Brianna Jezioro scored just over two minutes into the first overtime period to lift the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels to a 2-1 victory over the Southwestern College Lady Builders tonight (Sept. 10) at MACU Soccer Field.

Jezioro scored when she managed to break free in the middle of the box and slip past the keeper to sneak the ball into the net and ignite a jubilant celebration on the field for the Lady Evangels.

The Lady Evangels (1-3) trailed much of the way after Natasha Hernandez put the Lady Builders (2-3) on top with a goal in the eighth minute of the match.

Kaci Power got MACU on the board by turning and kicking a shot in from the left side at the 69:37 mark to tie the score.

The Lady Evangels out-shot Southwestern 20-9 overall and 10-2 on-goal.

Kaitlyn Whitten stopped one shot in the net for the Lady Evangels, while Olyvia Bish recorded eight saves for the Lady Builders.

Next up the Lady Evangels will play at Texas College one week from tonight (Sept. 17) at 2 p.m. in Tyler, Texas.
