Jezioro and Stephens' Two Goals Fuel Lady Evangels Conference-Opening 6-0 Win Over Bacone

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Brianna Jezioro and Brittany Stephens scored two goals each as the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels routed the Bacone College Lady Warriors to open up the Sooner Athletic Conference season today (Sept. 29) at MACU Soccer Field.

It was all Lady Evangels from the outset, as the Lady Evangels out-shot the Lady Warriors by a whopping 29-3 overall and 23-1 on-goal.

Taylor Moseley got the Lady Evangels going with a goal in the 13th minute of the opening half followed by a score from Cici Mitchell on an assist from Kayla Baldwin at the 24:21 mark.

Jezioro then took a feed from Rochelle Bohuslavicky past midfield and gained a one on one opportunity with the keeper for her first goal in the 36th minute that made it 3-0 at the half.

Jezioro made it a 4-0 lead with a goal in the 73rd minute before Stephens took it from there with two goals seven minutes apart in the 79th minute and then again at the 86:38 mark. Stephens' second goal came off an assist from Moseley.

Kaitlyn Whitten made one save in the net for MACU (4-4, 1-0 SAC) before giving way to Kenady Maynard for the final 37:51.

Courtisha Ebanks stopped 16 shots for Bacone (1-2) before departing with 7:18 left.

The Lady Evangels have now won two straight and will go for three in a row when they host Texas Wesleyan University next Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 6) at 2 p.m.
