Women's Soccer Lady Evangels Blank Wayland Baptist 2-0

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels continued their stout defensive play by recording their sixth shutout of the season, this time a 2-0 victory over the Wayland Baptist University Pioneers today (Oct. 14) in Sooner Athletic Conference action at Evangel Field.

It's the second straight shutout for goalkeeper Madison Donihoo and the Lady Evangels, who now have a scoreless streak of 193:41 after a 329 minute scoreless streak earlier this season.

The match was scoreless until Brittney Stephens headed in a feed from Cindy Ramos at the 77:33 mark to put the Lady Evangels on the board.

Sophie Harris then finished the scoring with her first career goal with just 43 seconds remaining in the match to put it away.

The Lady Evangels (6-5-1, 3-2 SAC) out-shot the Pioneers 15-11 overall, but the shots-on-goal were even at 10-10.

Donihoo stopped 10 shots in the net, just one shy of her career high. Bailey Stengler was also solid for the Pioneers (3-7-2, 2-3 SAC) with eight saves.

The Lady Evangels will next be in action on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 18) at Southwestern Assemblies of God University starting at 1 p.m. in Waxahachie, Texas.
