Four Named to All-SAC Women's Soccer Second Team

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Tuesday morning, the Sooner Athletic Conference announced its 2017 All-SAC Women's Soccer Teams. The Mid-America Christian University program did not have a first team honoree, but the Lady Evangels did have four players who earned Second Team All-SAC honors.

Brittney Stephens, Alissa Tapp, Kierra Morgan, and Casey Riley all earned second team All-SAC honors, joining 26 other players from six other teams on the All-SAC lists.

Stephens, a 5-8 junior forward from Mustang, Oklahoma, tallied 19 goals and four assists, and she notched six game winning goals through the SAC postseason tournament. She ranked third in the SAC in total goals. She also had five multi-goal matches.

Morgan, a 5-5 junior from Douglas, Isle of Man, played in 13 games, racking up six goals and four assists. She scored in each of her last two games.

Tapp, a 5-5 junior from Ponca City, Oklahoma, was a versatile weapon for the Lady Evangels, as she posted the third-highest goal total on the team, while leading MACU in assists. She scored eight times and set up nine other goals.

Riley, a 5-6 freshman defender from Moore, Oklahoma, anchored the Evangels' back line, while also showing prowess as a free kick specialist. She scored six goals and had four assists as she started every game on the season.

The Evangels still have the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament from November 15-17. The Ladies tournament will be hosted on the MACU campus. Brackets and game times are still to be announced.
