Fink, Lozano Claim Both SAC Player of the Week Honors

OKLAHOMA CITY – Coming off a huge 10-1 win against Texas A&M-Texarkana on Saturday, the Mid-America Christian women's soccer team swept the Sooner Athletic Conference weekly awards as senior midfielder Liz Lozano took home the team's offensive accolade while sophomore defender Brooklyn Fink was tabbed with the defense honor on Monday.

Lozano's performance against the Eagles will go down as one of the best individual offensive performances in the history of the MACU women's soccer program. Not only did her five goals scored in the contest tie the single match program record with Kaci Power and teammate Sylvie Willie, but with a pair of assists, she also notched the program's single match points record with 12.

A 5-5 midfielder from Aguascalientes, Mexico, Lozano has so far scored nine goals and dished out three assists for 21 points to hold the NAIA lead in goals per game (4.5), points per game (10.5) and shots on-goal per game (6.5). Lozano also ranks second in the NAIA in shots per game (8.5) as well as third in assists per game (1.5).

Being named the Sooner Athletic Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year last season, Fink has picked up right where she left off in leading the Evangels defense. Taking on a Texas A&M-Texarkana team went 12-6-1 while averaging 2.7 goals on 18.7 shots per game last season, the MACU defense limited the Eagles to just one goal on three shot attempts.

Mid-America Christian will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 8 as the Evangels will host Arizona Christian for a 1 p.m. match at Evangel Field.
