Kelsey Henry Earns NCCAA All-America Acclaim for Second Straight Year

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Senior forward Kelsey Henry from the Mid-America Christian women's soccer team was selected to her second National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-America Team, earning Second Team honors on Wednesday.

A 5-5 forward from Arima, Trinidad & Tobago, Henry is just the third Evangels player to ever earn multiple NCCAA All-America honors after garnering First Team accolades during the split 2020-21 campaign. The only other former MACU women's soccer players that earned multiple NCCAA All-America honors were Kassie Byrd (2010, 2011) and Julia Nimal (2009, 2010, 2011).

This season, Henry was the team's leading scorer, finishing the year with eight goals and four assists for 20 points.

Henry earned NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 4 after scoring a pair of goals each in a 3-0 victory over Central Christian and then put up a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the second half to lead the Evangels to a 3-2 final in McPherson, Kan. on Oct. 2.

Henry's best game of the season came in a 7-1 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State on Oct. 26 when she pushed across two goals and dished out a pair of assists for six points.

Wrapping up a three-year playing career with the Evangels, Henry will be graduating from MACU as the program's ninth-leading goal scorer (26), sixth-most assists (14) and the ninth-most points (76).

Mid-America Christian wrapped up the season with its third straight 10-plus win season and its eighth in the last 11 years with an 11-9 overall record and went 6-3 in SAC play to finish fourth in the league standings.
