Olivia Roberts hit a game-winning double in the bottom of the sixth before
Avery Schneringer finished off Missouri Baptist as the Evangels picked up a 2-1 win at Ann Lacy Stadium on Friday.

- Mid-America Christian scored its two runs on six hits while Missouri Baptist was held to just one run on four hits. As a team, the Evangels batted .250 (6-of-24) while the Spartans were held to just a .181 (4-of-22) batting average.
- Avery Schneringer strung together a stellar complete-game performance allowing one run on four hits, no walks with four strikeouts for her first win in the circle this season.
- Trailing by a run in the fourth, the Evangels managed to tie it up on back-to-back doubles to start the inning by Aurelia Holguin and Janessa Larman.
- Two innings later, Olivia Roberts delivered a clutch two-base knock to center field with two outs, bringing in Holguin for the go-ahead run.
- Holguin continued to swing a hot bat going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Holguin notched her second multi-hit game of the season and reached base for the fifth consecutive game to start the season.
- MACU and Missouri Baptist met for the first time ever on Friday afternoon as the Evangels opened the series with a win over the Spartans.
