Five Softball Standouts Earn All-SAC Acclaim

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference unveiled its All-Conference Teams on Wednesday morning as five Evangels received accolades. Freshman pitcher Emmerson Dickinson earned First Team honors, junior pitcher Gia Reynosa was tabbed to the Second Team, while junior first baseman Heidi Noisey, sophomore outfielder Serena Rodriguez, and freshman shortstop Taylor Martinez received an Honorable Mention nod. Rodriguez also collected MACU's Gold Glove honor.

In her first season with the Evangels, Dickinson earned an at-large bid to the All-SAC First Team after being one of the top pitchers in the league this season. The Denison, Texas product ended SAC Tournament play with the conference's second-most strikeouts (110), fifth-most wins (11), and fifth-lowest qualifying ERA (2.78).

Dickinson wrapped up the year leading the team in appearances (27), games started (18), complete games (12), innings pitched (131.0), and finished sixth in MACU's single season NAIA Era (2008-present) record book for strikeouts per seven innings ratio at 5.88.

The freshman phenom also found herself in MACU's single season record book when she recorded 12 strikeouts in a 7-1 win over Nelson on Apr. 3, tying her for the second-most strikeouts

Earning second All-SAC accolade, Reynosa closed out her 2026 campaign with a 7-7 record in the circle with the 12th-best ERA in the SAC at 3.79. Seeing action in 23 games and making 13 starts, the San Antonio, Texas native finished the year with seven complete games and led the team with two shutouts while throwing 98.1 innings in those outings.

Reynosa tossed two of the best games of her MACU career this season when she threw a one-hit complete game shutout with only two walks and seven strikeouts at Central Christian on Mar. 28 before shocking the NAIA Softball world on Apr. 24. Going on the road to No. 7 Science & Arts, Reynosa snapped USAO's 23-game win streak when she allowed only four hits and no walks while striking out a season-high eight batters in the 1-0 victory.

The third-year player at MACU once again ended up near the top of MACU's single season record book in strikeout-to-walk ratio, as her 5.46 rate is the second-best mark on MACU's list, sitting only behind herself when she posted a 5.50 clip during the 2025 campaign.

Taking over as the team's starting first baseman in her second season with the program, Noisey was one of the most productive bats for MACU on the season as she wrapped up the year with a team-best .346 batting average, finishing with eight doubles, a team-high 25 RBIs and scored 15 runs.

The Moore, Okla. product was a big time glove for the Evangels as well, as she wrapped up the season as the program's single season record holder for putouts (343) and double plays (14).

In her second season with MACU, Rodriguez was a massive presence at the top of MACU's batting order. The sophomore outfielder closed out her 2026 season with a .336 batting average, leading the team in runs (22), stolen bases (12),  triples (7), on-base percentage (.404), slugging percentage (.536), and OPS (.940).

The Palmdale, Calif. native's seven three-baggers ended the year as the second-most in MACU's NAIA Era record book and also was the team's Gold Glove Award recipient.

Rounding out the Honorable Mention honorees, Martinez closed out a strong first collegiate campaign with a .308 batting average, tallying eight doubles, four triples, a homer, 19 RBIs, and 21 runs scored to go with a team-high 12 stolen bases. The Midland, Texas product was also one of three players on the team, joining Noisey and Kayten Herman to play all 48 games this season.

Mid-America Christian closed out its 2026 season with a 21-24 record and finished fourth in the SAC standings with a 19-17 league mark under first year head coach Eli Espinosa.
