  • Mid-America Christian scored its 13 runs on 10 hits while Southwestern was held to just three hits and committed an error.
  • The Evangels blew the game wide open right out of the gate. After Cailey Parsells was barely thrown out on a bunt single attempt, eight of the next nine MACU batters reached on either a walk or a hit as Janessa Larman and Olivia Roberts reach recorded RBI knocks before Abby Womack drove a two-RBI triple to right-center field. After Aurelia Holguin and Megan Widener drew walks, Parsells hit her first career inside-the-park grand slam down the right field line to swell the MACU advantage to 8-0.
  • Cailey Parsells added to her stellar day at the plate with a two-RBI single through the right side in the top of the third to push the score to 10-0. On that hit, Parsells tied the third-best single-game mark with six RBIs, moving into a seven-way tie with the last player driving in six being Larman against Oakland City (Ind.) at the NCCAA World Series on May 17, 2022.
  • Larman also finished with another great day at the dish when she ripped a two-RBI double down the left field line two batters later in the top of the third, extending it to a 12-0 ball game. The senior third baseman finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
  • Rachel Eggleston earned her 12th win in the circle as she once again tossed four more scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out five. Just like on Tuesday, Chana Wolfe also came in to pitch a scoreless inning of relief, giving up just one hit.

The last time MACU scored 20 or more runs in a game, it came in a 20-1 win at Allen Field against Central Christian (Kan.) on Feb. 18, 2017. The single-game record for runs in a game was 23 in a 23-3 victory over Central Christian on Mar. 13, 2009 at Allen Field.

  • Harley Beesley also made an appearance out of the pen, allowing just one unearned run on four hits over 1.2 innings of work while Allie Doncarlos made her varsity debut, allowing just one hit in a third of an inning pitched.
  • By getting the victory, the Evangels completed the dominant four-game series sweep with Southwestern after MACU picked up a pair of 8-0, 12-5 wins at Allen Field back on Feb. 15. Overall, the Evangels outscored the Moundbuilders 55-6 in the season slate.
