OKLAHOMA CITY – Tuesday night's match at the Dill Soccer Field will have massive Sooner Athletic Conference implications as the MACU Women's Soccer team hosts current league leader No. 19 John Brown for a 5 p.m. kickoff.

      • 7-2-2 W-L, 0.67 GAA, 46 Saves, .868 SV%, 4 SHO, 1 CBO
  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian faced a Central Christian squad that played some tough defense through the first 70 minutes of its Senior Night match at the Dill Soccer Field on Saturday. However, in the 71st minute, MACU's offensive onslaught was finally able to break through the Tigers feisty defense as Alissa Taylor buried a long distance 30-yard goal into the top right corner. It started a stretch where MACU scored two more goals over the final 20 minutes to secure a 3-0 victory.
    • On-top of Taylor, another senior in defender Asley Baker netted her second goal of the season for MACU's final tally of the contest while both of her scores have come off the assist from her sister Brae Baker.
    • Rachel Torres notched her ninth career shutout in her Senior Night match and was relatively untested as she needed to make two relatively low stress saves in the victory. Central Christian's most dangerous chance in the entire contest came in the second half when a right-side corner was snared by Torres on the leap. However, a challenging header attempt forced the ball out as it went off the crossbar before being cleared away by the defense.
    • Tuesday night's matchup will put on a full display of offensive efficiency as MACU and John Brown are the only teams in the SAC that are posting a 1-for-1 goal-to-assist ratio. The Evangels actually lead the conference in both total points (87) as well as goals allowed average (0.73).

    • Lauren Walter – GR – F
      • 4 Goals, 6 Assists, 14 Points, 29 Shots, 14 SOG, 1 GWG
    • Aubrey Winter – JR – F
      • 5 Goals, 3 Assists, 13 Points, 14 Shots, 11 SOG, 1 GWG
    • Marely Fonseca – FR – GK
      • 3-1 W-L, 0.44 GAA, 14 Saves, .875 SV%, 3 SHO
  • Team Notes:
    • Facing its sixth team ranked in the NAIA Top 25 on Saturday, the battle-tested No. 19 John Brown was able to withstand No. 24 Science & Arts as a pair of Katherine Keys goals in the 14th and 78th minutes propelled the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 victory.
    • By tallying seven saves in the shutout victory, freshman goalkeeper Marely Fonseca notched her third shutout since becoming JBU's starting goalkeeper after returning to the team following her competition with the U20 Costa Rican National Team. With their efforts, both Keys and Fonseca were selected as the SAC Players of the Week.
    • The Golden Eagles are one of only three teams in the SAC that have recorded 80 or points (84) and are allowing 1.00 goals or less (1.00) per match, with just MACU (87, 0.73) and Oklahoma City (81, 0.89) being the only other team in the league to hold the same distinction.
    • While the powerhouse Golden Eagles program has won 13 of the last 14 meetings, Mid-America Christian tested John Brown last season in their two meetings. After squaring off in Siloam Springs during their regular season meeting, MACU was the only team that managed to take a point off the undefeated Golden Eagles in SAC play as the Evangels forced a 0-0 draw Oct. 21, 2023. The two teams squared off again in the SAC Semifinal and MACU trailed by just one goal at the halftime break, but was unable to generate any more offense against the Golden Eagles as JBU held on for the 3-1 win before eventually claiming the SAC Tournament Championship after getting a 3-0 win over Science & Arts.
