OKLAHOMA CITY – For the third time in his six-year career at Mid-America Christian, Adam Stanek has been selected as the Sooner Athletic Conference Sports Information Director of the Year for the 2024-25 athletic year.
An award that is voted upon by the conference's 13 sports information directors, Stanek is the first SID in the league to be named the SAC SID of the Year three times since the award's introduction following the 2013-14 season.
"I'd like to thank my peers for voting me for this prestigious honor," stated Stanek. "In the six years I've served as MACU's Sports Information Director, I consider myself blessed to work with an incredible sports information, coaching, and administrative staff. We've built a remarkable culture at MACU that has truly made it the place to be."
In his role at MACU, Stanek is responsible for the media coverage and statistical reporting for all 12 of MACU's athletic programs. Stanek also serves as the play-by-play broadcaster for volleyball and PA announcer for baseball, softball, men's soccer, and women's soccer.
Outside of MACU, Stanek was highly involved in the SAC, NAIA and NCCAA as he served as an official statistician and PA announcer for the SAC Softball Tournament hosted by Oklahoma City and the SAC Baseball Tournament Semifinals hosted by Science & Arts, as well as official statistician for the SAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament hosted by Langston.
For postseason play, Stanek was the official statistician and PA announcer for the NAIA Men's Soccer Tournament First and Second Round hosted at the Dill Soccer Field on Nov. 23 and also served as one of the official statisticians for the NCCAA Softball World Series in Grapevine, Texas on May 19-21. Stanek was also a statistician for three regular season softball tournaments, including the Southern Collegiate Sports NAIA Invitational in Mesquite, Texas, the NAIA SB Invitational in Shawnee, Okla. and the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic at Devon Park.
A member of Collegiate Sports Communicators, Stanek served as a panelist for a Baseball and Softball Stating webinar for training NAIA Sports Information Directors on the PrestoStats live stating platform.
For the third-straight year, Stanek has also been heavily involved in the NCCAA All-Region nominating and balloting process for men's soccer, women's basketball and softball.
Stanek received his first SAC SID of the Year honor following the conclusion of the 2020-21 athletic year before notching his second honor at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.
"I am continually impressed by Adam's unselfishness, work ethic, and service to others," said Moeller. "He has done an incredible job as our SID across the board. He is the absolute best of us at MACU, and I am so thankful to see the league SIDs honor him once again with this award."
